Location:
The arena is located in Peristeri, a western district of Athens. To
get there by car, exit the city centre via Athinon Avenue.
1 km after passing over the motorway to Lamia, Athinon Avenue submerges
under Thivon Street. Don't go down the tunnel, but turn right into
Thivon. Go on for another 400m and at the traffic lights turn right
again into Kennedy Street. You will see Peristeri Arena on your left
after 100m.

may also get there easily by public transport. Use Metro
line 2 (red) to "Aghios Antonios" and board bus
#821 outside the metro station. Get off just four stops after Aghios
Antonios, at the stop named "Ghipedo", right outside Peristeri
Arena.

data: The arena is named after Andreas Papandreou, the old Prime
Minister of Greece who died in 1996. It lies right next to Peristeri
Stadium. Peristeri Arena is a smaller version of two other arenas:
Larissa Neapolis and Patras
"Dimitris Tofalos". It was built 6 years before these
two indoor halls and it holds 1,000 less spectators.
Peristeri Arena has been used as home by various other basketball clubs besides Peristeri B.C., such as Panellinios B.C. (for Eurocup games during the 2010-11 season) and Panelefsiniakos B.C. (for part of the 2012-13 season). The arena is owned by the Municipality of Peristeri. |
